"Free Word Technique" Program (1992 - 2003)

The Foundation organizes training within the scope of desktop publishing for the needs of independent organizations and publishers. Training is adapted to the level of computer literacy of the participants. Beginners completing the course leave Poland with the skills necessary to compose and edit texts on a computer; while participants with more advanced skills are trained according to pre-established needs.

In addition, selected organizations are supported through the donation of computer hardware.

Other than the basic goal, establishing contacts by the invited organizations with Polish non-governmental organizations plays a leading role in the program.

The eighth edition of this program was completed in 2003. In total, more than 480 people representing several hundred organizations in Belarus, Ukraine, Russia, Moldova, Lithuania, Latvia, Mongolia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan have participated in the program.

Developing Independent Media Skills in Eurasia
The fourteenth edition of the "Independent media" program is planned for this year. Nearly 26 journalists from Belarus, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine will be invited to Poland. During study visits, they will have an opportunity to visit the editorial offices of newspapers and magazines, radio and TV stations, internet portals and information agencies. They will acquaint themselves with the work and experiences of their Polish colleagues. The study visits will be tailored to the professions and specializations of the guests.
